Geelongs own Main Event Superstar – Danielle Foot taking on the world!
Dani is pumped to announce she’s on her way to the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Nationals at Rocky Mountain (Tennessee) in July! The Loretta Lynn Motocross races feature the best amateur riders in the nation. Officially dubbed the Amateur Motocross Championships are sanctioned by the AMA and a proving ground for many of the up and coming MX talent.
Dani won the girls class 12-16 year old and just missed out with the women’s class 14+, so now she is now going to travel to another region called Washougal, which is about 1000 miles away to try and qualify for that bracket as well.
Here is what Dani had to say:
Todays racing had its positives and negatives, going 1,1 on the supermini in girls 12-16! Unfortunately i missed out on qualifying for the women’s 14+ going 4,3! Had the speed and my times were up there, but my stock 125 was struggling against the 250 4 strokes up the massive hills! But besides that, taking away the positives and coming home proud to say i have qualified for the biggest race in junior motocross! And i wouldnt be here without all the support i get from everyone back home, including the team at Mototech for the continuous help over the years! Lastly a massive thank you to my family!! Sitting at the track in 30+ degrees and cheering from the sidelines!! Been there for me from day one, and I’m so grateful for all they sacrifice for me!
How it works:
Taking place in 32 states throughout the US, this season’s schedule of 55 Area Qualifiers began in February and ran through until the end of May. The 13 Regional Championships will run in eight major geographical regions throughout the United States, taking place in late May and through the month of June.
The Area Qualifiers serve as the first step in qualifying for the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur motocross championship. The Regional Championships then serve as the next step to seed riders into the National Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch.
Main Event would like offer Dani a huge congratulations, and wish her the best of luck in her next qualifier!
