Member of the month – December
We have so many amazing/inspiring stories walk through our doors at Main Event Fitness, it would seem selfish for us not to share some of them with you guys. So we are going to start profiling some of our members for you!
Meet our member of the month Scott, or as we call him Yank!
MEF: Scott, you are living in Australia, but originally from America. What part of America are you from and what brings you over to Australia?
Scott: I was born and raised in Los Angeles and lived in Seattle for 15 years and then Hawaii for 5 years. My wife and I came over to Australia 6 months ago for the lifestyle and because it’s the greatest country in the world!
MEF: How long have you been training at Main Event Fitness, and what are you’re favourite classes?
Scott: I’ve been training in the Muay Thai class for 3 months.
MEF: You started with us at 49 years young, and are one of our most committed members. What do you enjoy most about the classes, and what keeps you motivated?
Scott: Yep, started at age 49 and am now at 50 years young! What I enjoy most about the class is that the younger members and the trainers don’t make me feel like a fossil and are always there to help. Also, when I get super tired, the coaches allow me to rest!
MEF: What are you’re fitness goals, and what result have you started to see already?
Scott: I mostly started so I could lose weight and so far, I’ve dropped 5 kilos. Very happy with the results.
MEF: Do you have any advice for people looking to get into Muay Thai or fitness in general?
Scott: I think anyone looking to get fit and wanting to build self confidence, there’s nothing better than Muay Thai. And thanks so much to Main Event Fitness for being such an awesome place to train!
