Survey Results
We asked. You answered. We listened.
Thank you to everyone who took the time out to complete our membership survey back in November/December. We value all the feedback we received from members, past ans present. So based on the feedback we have received, we would like to provide you all with an update.
In 2018 you will see:
- New class timetable
- New classes
- New equipment
- Olympic lifting programs
- After 8pm programs
- Monthly Newsletter
- More competitions both in lifting and martial arts
- General/beginners sparring
- More structure for the fight teams including specific training for fighters, conditioning and sparring/comp rounds
- More maintenance work including the roof which we will be aiming to have completed by early 2018
Music
We will be looking into why the speakers aren’t as loud, we think it may also be having all the fans going over Summer, which tends to drown out the speakers. For those that don’t know, there is also a tablet downstairs to select music when you are working out, both Spotify and sound cloud are available (Spotify premium coming soon).
Gym Cleanliness
We aim to keep the gym as clean and tidy as possible. We try to complete cleaning outside of class times to reduce any disruptions, but if there are any issues or the bathrooms need attending, please let us know at the reception.
Customer Service
We were devastated to hear that some members are not finding our staff approachable or welcoming. We at ETC want all our members to feel welcome and a part of the ETC family. We will be addressing this concern and aiming to provide a high level of professional and friendly customer service. We are also working on a little project to help introduce all our staff members to the rest of the ETC family.
Weekend classes
We would love to provide classes 7 days a week, however at this stage we do not have the staff available. We will be adding a Saturday morning Muay Thai class to the timetable and will aim to trial some more weekend classes and events in 2018.
24 hour access
As per our recent announcement, the gym will now have extended opening hours, from 3am-1am daily – that’s 22 hour access! We understand everyone has different work schedules and getting into the gym can be tough, so we hope these extended hours are accommodating.
Parking
Unfortunately we cannot change our parking situation. We will be working with the council to get the lower gravel car park maintained and topped up. We do ask people to be mindful when parking in the lower car park not to block anyone in and to try and keep parking uniform to ensure maximum cars can fit. Also with street parking, please be mindful of not blocking driveways. There are carparks at Harley-Davidson, McCaans Plumbing and Rex Gorrell that can all be used after 5pm. We often get requests to turn the empty paddock space behind the gym into a car park, unfortunately this is not our land and our hands are currently tied.
Heating and Cooling
We are working on strategies to address both of these issues. With the size of ETC and the amount of natural lighting, it is a little bit of trial and error for what can provide the most benefit, however this is a top priority and we will continue working on this in 2018
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our members current, future and past for their support to ETC. We have come a long way in the last 4 years and can only hope that the future continues to bring new and exciting times ahead.
