October Recap | Etc Gym Geelong
Well, October was a massive month for us, we revealed our new space and celebrated the launch of our new fit out with a week of fun. But there are a few things that happened over the past few weeks that you may not know about…
ETC trainer Jim Kanellos ran his 6th Melbourne Marathon in tough conditions, which saw many runners dropping due to heat exhaustion. But not Jim, who pushed through and is now past the half-way make of completing his 10-marathon goal!
During the month we had Ben Da Silva compete for the Victorian Weightlifting Association Open (VWA) in Bendigo. We were thrilled that Ben came away with best male masters lifter (+35).
As many of you know, our boxing coach Greg Bell flew to China on October 10th for the WBF Australasian welterweight title, unfortunately, there was no win this time for Greg but he fought well against a tough opponent and we can’t wait to see what he has in store next! Jason Petropolous also fought on Eternal MMA in Adelaide, going up against Mitch Martin for the MMA Bantamweight title fight, he too did not come away with a win on this occasion, he fought well but it just wasn’t his night this time around.
We had Rich Poole step up on the stage for the second time at the International Federation for Body Building, he brought a solid conditioning to the stage and is looking forward to coming back next season unstoppable!
