Step Aerobics with Jamie!

We’re excited to launch a new Step Aerobics class on Saturday mornings with Jamie at 8.30am. If you want to burn calories and tone your butt and thighs, Step Aerobics is the perfect workout for you! Step is a fun way to get your body moving… This class will make you sweat, feel the burn and you’ll be sure to leave with a smile on your face!

What is Step Aerobics?

Step class is traditionally a cardio based workout which aims to boost heart rate, increase fitness and provide a whole body workout. It uses an aerobic step and a variety of choreographed movements, such as step ups, push ups, side steps and stepovers. Step class is lead by the trainer who moves along with you keeping the energy levels up throughout the whole class. It’s fast-paced and heaps of fun.

How is ETC step class different to other gym classes?

Jamie brings her own unique take on step class. A mix of old school aerobics and traditional step moves you will be able to step up, over and around your station pumped up by the latest music hits and old school anthems. Although legs and bootys are the main focus of the class, your upper body is still going to be put through its paces including body weight exercises such as push-ups and planks and for those ready to step it up a level, grab a set of dumbbells to ensure you are blasting those shoulders. Jamie is fun and vibrant, the energy she brings to the class makes it easy to enjoy the session!

What if I’m really unfit?

The beauty of our step class is that you can push yourself at your own level. It doesn’t matter what the person next to you is doing, all exercises can be scaled and you can work to your personal level. You will get out what you put in! Step class can be intimidating, people assume it involves a lot of coordination, but in fact, this step class is different – it doesn’t matter whether you are a step master or a complete novice, everyone gets in there and gives it a go and if you make a mistake you can just laugh it off.

I’m injured, can I still do step?

Best to have a chat with us first, some injuries can be worked around, but safety is our number one concern so just let us know and we can see what we can do.
